It provides a larger distinction than you may at first imagine, which could prove enough to encourage Souls' fans to give it a try.įocusing on animation priorities and deliberate paced action, comparisons with the Souls games are certainly justified. This is not a qualitative judgment, but it is one of the clear points of differentiation for Lords of the Fallen from its competition. This has the odd effect of making the world feel funneled as you run around trying to achieve your goals rather than exploring the environment. With optional tasks given and expressly accepted by the player, the experience feels more scripted.
